Binance Looking to Expand Across Africa, including Kenya, Says CEO, ChangPeng Zhao

The African Blockchain Conference 2018, held in Kampala, Uganda, provided insight into just how vast and how fast the Blockchain space in Africa is growing.

Among the high-profile guest speakers who spoke at the event included the President of Uganda, Yoweri Museveni, and Mr. ChangPeng Zhao, the CEO of Binance, the largest exchange in the world.

Looking Beyond Uganda

Binance has already committed to setting up an exchange in Uganda and the process is ongoing. However, according to Mr. Zhao, the company is looking to go beyond Uganda and actually reach out to the rest of Africa, including Kenya.

According to Zhao, “Building up a local community does not limit us just to Uganda. Uganda is a very good starting point. But we want to go across Africa as well.”

Speaking to the press during the Africa Blockchain Conference 2018, ChangPeng expressed his interest in working with various organizations and always looking to partner with as many organizations as they can.

The African Blockchain Conference 2018, held in Kampala, Uganda, brought together 21 African nations around the Blockchain space. It was organized by the Blockchain Association of Uganda, in partnership with Crypto Savannah, a Blockchain hub based in Kampala.
