Paxful Adds BitSika, A Popular West African Cash App, as a Payment Method

Paxful, the largest bitcoin P2P marketplace in Africa, has added Bitsika, a Ghanaian-based platform, as a payment method onto its platform.

Bitsika provides fast and easier cross-border payments between Ghana and Nigeria allowing you to send and transact via both cash and crypto.

Bitsika enables users to deposit and pay out money using any of these currencies:

  • Ghanaian Cedis
  • Nigerian Nairas
  • U.S. Dollars
  • CFAs

The Bitsika app is an innovative crypto app that allows users to do any of the following:

  • Fiat-to-fiat cross border transfers
  • Direct crypto and fiat transfers

Speaking about the new addition, Ray Youssef, CEO, Paxful, said:

“As an organization that constantly devises alternatives to ensure seamless and safe transactions for our users, we’re excited to add Bitsika as a payment option to the platform.

With this partnership, users don’t have to worry about the restrictions on the US dollars imposed by African banks. Dollars can be held in a crypto form called BUSD. And with simplified security measures, there is no need to provide full Naira bank details, all that’s needed is a Bitsika tag.”

According to Atsuh Davoh, CEO, Bitsika:

“With Bitsika you can load up money in a particular currency (say Cedis, Naira, USD, etc). Once done, you can now anonymously and instantly send the money to anyone who has a Bitsika cashtag, without fail.

Say goodbye to revealing the personal info of your Mobile Money number or Naira bank details every time you do or receive a transfer. And the best part is that all internal transfers are free.”

Recently, Paxful partnered with BuyCoins Africa, yet another Nigerian platform, to bring its Naira stablecoin onto the platform in order to increase trading activity within the crypto ecosystem in Nigeria.

According to a recent research, close to half of all P2P bitcoin volumes in Africa are driven by Nigeria, the continent’s most popolous nation. Not surprisingly, Nigeria is thus one of Paxful’s leading markets.

The recent integrations will no doubt offer users of the platform more options, now over 300, to buy and sell bitcoin across the African continent.
