The chief sales and marketing officer at SwissQuote, described as the largest online bank in Switzerland, revealed that the bank intends to start a crypto exchange by H1 2022.
The senior official added the bank is pursuing the following goals in respect to the exchange:
- To become the leading provider of digital assets
- To offer trading for a wide variety of cryptocurrencies
- Add stablecoins and staking to its list of crypto offerings
The bank already supports a wide variety of cryptocurrencies – 24 in total – including the leading coins like BTC, ETH and Solana. However the list includes lesser famous coins as well, such as:
- Augur
- Ox
- Yearn.finance
- Filecoin
- Tezos
The greater push to start an exchange is informed by the success the bank has witnessed from its crypto services. For example, in H1, 2021, the company’s net income from crypto investments increased by over 1,000%.
Its net income from crypto investments reportedly increased by over 1,000% to 63.2 million Swiss francs in the first half of 2021 – part pf success that saw it expand its workforce.
Bank officials report that its compliance and customer service teams were overran by a hige surge in interest.
