This strategic collaboration aims to explore the transformative potential of blockchain and peer-to-peer technologies, fostering economic growth and positioning Guinea as a leader in Africa’s digital revolution.

This is the first Tether partnership with a government in Africa.

Speaking to BitKE, Tether CEO, Paolo Ardoino, said that Tether wants to be part of the African crypto and blockchain story.

Pioneering Blockchain Innovation in Guinea

The MoU underscores Tether’s commitment to driving blockchain adoption on a global scale, aligning with its broader mission to promote innovation, education, and responsible digital asset usage. By integrating blockchain solutions, this initiative aims to build a robust foundation for sustainable economic success and technological advancement in Guinea.

A key focus of the agreement is fostering education and innovation while facilitating the exchange of global best practices. In collaboration with the Cité des Sciences et de l’Innovation de Guinée (City of Science and Innovation of Guinea), Tether will contribute to the development of blockchain expertise and digital literacy programs. These initiatives will be introduced across Guinea’s public and private sectors to raise awareness, develop critical skills, and nurture local talent in the digital economy.

Supporting Guinea’s “Innovation City” Project

As part of the partnership, Tether will play a role in Guinea’s “Innovation City” project, an initiative designed to position the nation as a hub for technology, research, and entrepreneurship. This effort aligns with the government’s broader strategy of leveraging digital innovation to drive economic growth and create opportunities for young professionals in emerging technology fields.
