The UNICEF Venture Fund is on the lookout for early-stage startups using frontier technologies – AI, data science, blockchain, and more – to create real-world impact.
If your project is improving access to:
- Health care,
- Essential services, or
- Driving economic participation
for women and girls, this is your chance to scale with support from a global institution.
The need is clear:
- 31% of women worldwide are not in education, employment, or training
- 740 million women in developing economies remain unbanked
- Over 21 million adolescent girls in low- and middle-income countries become pregnant each year
- Only 2% of global medical research funding is allocated to pregnancy, childbirth, and female reproductive health
Who’s Eligible?
- Startups based in low- and middle-income countries
- Have a functional prototype, and
- A commitment to Open Source principles.
If you’re building tech that solves meaningful problems – and doing it transparently – UNICEF wants to hear from you.
What’s on the Table?
Up to $100,000 in equity-free funding, mentorship, and access to a network of social impact innovators. Bonus points if your startup is women-led or founded by someone under 35.
UNICEF is especially interested in solutions that:
-
Improve health outcomes
-
Expand economic opportunities for women and girls
-
Enhance access to essential services through decentralized or data-driven approaches
Deadline to Apply: May 8, 2025
Whether you’re tokenizing health access, building AI-driven diagnostics, or applying blockchain for transparent service delivery, this is your signal to take the leap.
Apply now and build tech that changes lives.
