Paxful Adds Kenyan-based WapiPay and Nigerian-based Afriex as Payment Methods


Paxful, Africa’s largest P2P bitcoin marketplace, has added two more African payment methods – WapiPay and Afriex – to its huge list of over 300 payment modes.

WapiPay describes itself as the first and most convenient Africa-Asia payments gateway to and from mobile money, mobile platforms, and bank accounts. WapiPay has also integrated with AliPay enabling easy and fast transactions between Asia and Africa.

Afriex enables users to send and receive money betwen Nigeria and other countries, predominantly, the United States. The app allows you to send, spend, and receive USD, Bitcoin, and Naira almost instantly via stablecoins to over 30 countries around the world.

The new payment methods come just a few weeks after Paxful added other more African payment methods that include:

The addition of these two payment methods is no surprise as Nigeria and Kenya make up some of the largest markets for Paxful globally.

Paxful recently announced that it had registered over 60, 000 new users in Kenya and processed over $40 million in trade volumes in 2020.

The company also recently said that Nigeria is Paxful’s second largest market globally and it makes up a quarter of its entire customer base.
