Africa Tech Summit Key Themes

This year’s Africa Tech Summit Nairobi agenda will share insights across three tracks:

  • The Money and DeFi Summit
  • Africa Start-up Summit
  • Africa Mobile Summit

The 3 tracks will drive interaction and a future line of sight across a variety of sectors.

The Africa Money & DeFi Summit, sponsored by Celo and VerifyMe, will bring together African fintech leaders, global platforms, and thought leaders to delve deeper into the new opportunities in Decentralized Finance (DeFi), FinTech, and crypto across the African continent.

A variety of keynotes, panels, and breakout sessions will provide key insights while also providing opportunities to connect, network, and do business across the African fintech and DeFi landscapes.

One of the panels being held during this summit is: DeFi for the People: Can Crypto End Poverty in Africa?

The panel will be moderated by Yaliwe Soko, the South Africa Ecosystems Lead at cLabs working on Celo and Chairwoman of United Africa Blockchain Association (UABA).

With funding for African tech start-ups massively growing to $4.65 billion in 2021, the Africa Startup Summit aims to highlight the continent’s rapidly evolving startup ecosystem.

This summit, which unpacks key trends and insights for 2022, brings together venture space stakeholders from across Africa to explore opportunities and challenges within the ecosystem while connecting investors, corporates, accelerators, policymakers, and start-ups.

Pitch Live will once again feature leading start-ups from across the continent, as well as partner programs.

With keynotes, panels, and breakout sessions from tech giants, MNO’s, OEM’s, regulators, mobile industry leaders, innovators, and corporates, the Africa Mobile Summit will deliver a cross-sectional view of new technologies, solutions, and opportunities across the African mobile and digital landscape.

Over the course of two days, the event brings together over 500 tech leaders from across the African tech ecosystem through three Summits, workshops, an expo, a deal room, venture showcases, and unparalleled networking opportunities.
