American YouTuber, Jimmy Donaldson, (MrBeast), has released a now-viral video of how he built 100 wells in Kenya which are set to provide clean unlimited drinking water to half a million people.

The newly constructed wells will offer clean drinking water to approximately 500,000 individuals in Cameroon, Kenya, Somalia, Uganda, and Zimbabwe, as stated by Donaldson. Additionally, he is driving an associated fundraising initiative to support local water aid organizations which had already amassed over $300,000 by November 6 2023.
In Donaldson’s 10-minute video, he was seen donating various supplies to Kenyan schools, including new furniture, soccer balls, computers, whiteboards, and projectors. He also participated in building a bridge across a river to facilitate safe access for a village to local schools and a hospital.
Furthermore, he donated bicycles to a village in Zimbabwe to assist children in commuting to school.
“You would think that having an effect of this magnitude would require the resources and funding of a large government but that’s not true. Solving this problem is possible and it’s something humanity should all be putting effort in to fix,” Donaldson said.
While the video has drawn a lot of attention about the ineffectiveness of African leaders, Donaldson said he anticipated backlash, saying on X that he ‘knows I’m gonna get canceled because I uploaded a video helping people, and to be 100% clear, I don’t care.”

Donaldson holds the distinction of being the most popular individual creator on YouTube, boasting over 200 million subscribers. He has gained recognition for his philanthropic endeavors, as evidenced by his videos in which he sponsored cataract surgery for 1,000 blind individuals and provided prosthetic limbs for 2,000 amputees.
Videos showcasing his philanthropic activities have contributed to the development of a business empire that is estimated to be worth over $1 billion. His widespread recognition led to Time magazine naming him one of the most influential people in 2023.
