Dash has announced a partnership with Nigerian-based exchange, NaijaCrypto, to bring its crypto exchange to Haiti.
This is the first foray outside the African continent for NaijaCrypto and the first exchange to formally offer its crypto exchange services via the Gourde, the Haitian local currency.

The partnership will allow Dash to be the first currency for on-ramp transactions in fiat to the exchange.
In a statement, Chiagozie Iwu, CEO, NaijaCrypto, said:
“Dash is the biggest cryptocurrency focused on payments, so partnering with Dash and Dash Haiti is an amazing partnership.
We will provide the Haitian market a multiplicity of tools that will help foster more financial inclusion.”
The growth of Dash in Haiti is expected to open up utilization of Dash for remittances from the U.S. to the Caribbean country.
Part of this second phase of engagement, users in Haiti will now be able to acquire, store, and sell Dash.
As one of the very first exchanges with any focus in Haiti, on-the-ground support is imperative for the success of this initiative. Dash Haiti, a Dash community organization born from the DAO and based in Port-au-Prince, will play the pivotal role of providing this support and will work to raise awareness to the population through a number of channels and activities.Efforts will be focused on building community and developing the Dash ecosystem.
Speaking about the partnership, Omar Hamwi, Business Development Lead, Dash Core Group, said:
“This is a particularly exciting engagement as this brings Dash, and really cryptocurrency into Haiti. We’re bringing the lessons learned from growing the Venezuelan market to a new market.”
Haitian Residents can now visit Naija Crypto’s website at https://naijacrypto.com/exchange, create an account and begin exchanging their Haitian Gourde, BTC, and BUSD for Dash.
More coins will be added over time.
