Aeternity Hub Africa To Host “What The Hack” Virtual Blockchain Hackathon this February 2019

Aeternity Hub Africa will be hosting a virtual blockchain hackathon scheduled for February 2-7, 2018 with the main goal of developing decentralized applications on the Aeternity blockchain.

The virtual hackathon is expected to attract developers from across the continent who are looking to develop decentralized applications (Dapps) that offer trust and transparency via the Aeternity Blockchain.

Some of the countries expected to participate include:

  • Kenya
  • Ethiopia
  • Uganda
  • Tanzania
  • Ghana
  • Botswana
  • Angola
  • Nigeria
  • Rwanda
  • South Africa
  • Algeria
  • Egypt
  • Senegal

Speaking about the hackathon, Frank Deya, COO, Aeternity Hub Africa, said:

“What The Hack! will help strengthen the African blockchain community through collaborations, build plans for Proof of Concept (PoC) blockchain platforms,welcome new-comers to the æternity community and create a pipeline for Dapps for the starfleet incubation program this April.”

Aeternity Hub Africa has previously developed a check clearing system which was showcased at an event in late 2018.

Winners from the 5-day hackathon will have access to the Starfleet funding and incubation program starting in April 2019.
