A nine-year old has built a blockchain voting Dapp for Nigeria election at the Blockchain4Good hackathon, organized by Blockchain Nigeria User Group.
Damilola Owonibi, the 9-year old blockchain developer, becomes the first and youngest blockchain developer to get such recognition on the African continent.
Speaking about the experience, Damilola said:
“I had a great experience and I learned so much. We saw how blockchain could bring out the future of Nigeria.
Speaking about the hackathon, Chuta Chimezie, Founder / Coordinator, Blockchain Nigeria User Group said:
“Our Blockchain4good Hackathon tasks our burgeoning youths to create real-life blockchain solutions.”
The hackathon, which was part of the Abuja Blockchain & Digital Assets Conference 2019, was attended by a number of reputable guests that included:
- Dr. Isa Pantami – Minister of Communications
- Ho. Femi Gbajabiamila – Speaker HoR, Nigeria
