The Ethereum Global Hackathon in South Africa to Feature Ethereum Founder, Vitalik Buterin

The Ethereum Global Hackathon (ETHCapeTown) is Africa’s FIRST ETHGlobal hackathon to come to the continent, taking place in Cape Town, South Africa from 19–21 April 2019 will feature Thereum Founder and Chief Scientist, Vitalik Buterin, as one of the judges.

The hackathon is expected to attract some of the best minds in the blockchain space as they work on solutions on the Ethereum platform and present their solutions at the of the two days to a panel of experienced judges.

Some of the prominent speakers attending include:

  • Devon Krantz – Managing Director, Linum Labs

  • Andy Tudhope – Status

Talks at the hackathon event will be focused on Ethereum development such as using Solidity, state channels, testnets, and other related topics.

This is the second global hackathon to take place on the continent. In 2018, the EOS Grand Finale Hackathon took place in South Africa where a number of African projects, mostly Kenyan projects, got featured and highlighted.

The EthGlobal Hackathon provides a great opportunity for African blockchain and crypto projects to participate, network, and learn from global experts on how to build scalable solutions on the blockchain.
