Crypto Payments was one of 4 areas the two companies are set to partner on as listed below:
- Crypto payments for cloud customers
- Coinbase selects Google Cloud as a strategic cloud provider
- Google Cloud to integrate its blockchain datasets to Coinbase Cloud
- Google Cloud to use Coinbase Prime for crypto services
Coinbase will use Google Cloud’s powerful compute platform to process blockchain data at scale and enhance the global reach of its crypto services by leveraging Google’s premium fiber-optic network, Google said.
In addition, Coinbase will build its global data platform on Google Cloud’s infrastructure, as well as rely on the provider for data and analytics tools to power machine learning-driven crypto insights.
Under the partnership, Google says it will be integrating its BigQuery crypto public datasets to the exchange’s own cloud platform, Coinbase Cloud Nodes. Launched in 2021, Coinbase Cloud Nodes provides a free plan for developers to connect to a node on any of the 25 blockchains.
According to Coinbase, the integration will allow developers to instantly and reliably operate Web3-based systems without the need for expensive and complex infrastructure.
We want to make building in Web3 faster and easier, and this partnership with Coinbase helps developers get one step closer to that goal. – Thomas Kurian, CEO, Google Cloud
Lastly, Google will use Coinbase Prime for institutional crypto services like secure custody and reporting. Coinbase Prime is an integrated solution that provides secure custody and an advanced trading platform for institutional investors and corporates.
We are excited Google Cloud has selected Coinbase to help bring Web3 to a new set of users and provide powerful solutions to developers. – Brian Armstrong, Co-founder and CEO, Coinbase.
