Brave, the privacy-oriented browser, combined with its blockchain-based digital advertising platform that is reinventing the web for users, publishers and advertisers, has said it added a million users to its user base in March 2020.
The announcement came through Des Martin, head of marketing at Brave, on his twitter:
1M+ new users in March. Go @Brave 🚀

According to Brenda Eich, CEO, Brave, the browser now has a total of 13.5 monthly active users and 4.3 daily active users.
@Brave hit 13.5M MAU / 4.3M DAU for March 2020. We will work on getting ration smaller by meeting all your Chrome user daily-driver needs. Sync v2 for all data types + wallet/ledger too.https://t.co/artKBsQdvA

The spike in user numbers is no doubt being fueled by increased web usage as more people stay at home to self quarantine amidst the covid-19 and coronavirus pandemic globally.
The recent one million user growth spike in just a single month is quite impressive when you consider that Brave doubled its monthly active users in 2019 from 5.5 million in 2018 to 10.4 million in 2019. At the same time, Brave tripled its daily active users over the past year to reach 3.3 million, and became the most downloaded browser app on the Google Play Store in Japan.
The Brave-Binance partnership in March 2020 lets users be able to buy, trade and receive crypto assets directly on the new tab page. When you open a new tab on Brave, there will be a new Binance-branded widget below the Brave Rewards widget. It integrates directly with Binance.com and Binance.us in the U.S.
If cryptocurrencies aren’t your thing or if you believe web browsers are designed to browse the web, you can disable the widget entirely in the browser settings.
The expanded cryptocurrency features with an integration with cryptocurrency exchange Binance have no doubt helped to attract new users onto the browser.
Brave also offers blockchain functionality and compensates content creators, users, and advertisers in its native Basic Attention Token (BAT) for viewing online ads. Currently, Brave has over 530,000 “Verified Publishers.”
Brave has also been touted as one of the top 5 most promising crypto tokens with a real use case and numbers worth investing in 2020, according to research.
When you see an ad Brave picks for you, you earn 70% of what the advertiser paid, guaranteed. Brave Ads look like system notifications. They’re not distracting or intrusive, and they’re not mixed in with the pages you read online.
“We’re looking forward to more growth in the coming months as more and more users are becoming aware of Brave’s privacy-by-default approach, as well as the benefits of getting compensated for their attention with Brave Rewards.” ~ Spokesperson, Brave
