Facebook’s parent company, Meta, is considering launching its own NFT marketplace, part of a venture into the space that will also see users able to create and display NFTs on their profiles.
As first reported by the Financial Times, teams at both Facebook and Instagram are looking at NFT integration, with Meta’s digital currency wallet, Novi, set to be a key component in the NFT push. While the company’s plans are reportedly at an early stage and could change, this is not the first time to hear about Meta’s NFT plans.

In December 2021, Instagram CEO, Adam Mosseri, also revealed that the company is looking at ways to bring NFTs to a wider audience via its app.
As the NFTs space exploded in 2021 with total sales exceeding $25 billion, more corporates have taken notice.
Besides Meta, recent weeks have seen Coinbase, Mastercard, the UFC, Walmart, and the Associated Press as some of the companies seeking to integrate NFTs in one way or another.
