The second blockchain class in Kenya has graduated after taking the 2-day course on August 29th-30th, 2019.
The 6 graduants completed the DLBRT Blockchain for Business Course which was held at Strathmore Business School. The course covered outline included:
- Introduction to DLBRT – Beginner’s Guide to Understanding Distributed Ledgers and Blockchain Technologies
- Blockchain Architecture Smart Contracts – The Components of a Smart Contract and the Ethereum Virtual Machine
- Smart Contract Use Cases – The Intersection of Smart Contracts with Human Readable Content to Form Smart Contract Templates
- Cryptocurrency Formation – ERC-20 Standard as a Basis for Token Economics
The class included students from diverse professions such as law, finance and ICT.
Speaking about the course, George Mwakisha, a crypto trading advisor with KuBitX, a pan-African digital assets exchange with over 10 years experience in banking, said:
“I recommend the course to anyone who wants to understand Blockchain Technology, its practicality on tokenizing and digitizing assets, creating a smart contract and its usefulness in today’s fast changing world. DLBRT help you position yourself on the Fourth Industrial Revolution.”
Alice Wakanyi, an ICT Consultant who took the course, said:
“Thank you to the DLBRT team, Strathmore University and Kenbright, I can now create smart contracts and digitize our businesses using ICOs.”
Speaking on the second class graduation, Betty, the owner of Betty’s Place, the first business to accept cryptocurrencies in Kenya, said:
“This so encouraging as it shows consistency in blockchain education which will repute in its vigorous adoption in various sectors in the near future .What is interesting is that lawyers are heavily represented in these classes, a true indication of their belief in blockchain technology. We hope in future classes our government officials or law makers will join.”
So far, DLBRT has graduated 20 students since the class started in early 2019 with the next class scheduled for November 28th & 29th, 2019.
